You know, I had thought that the textiles in the previous page reminded me of Bali’s own colour scheme. And we’ve been told that he “isn’t truly of the Nuru”, at least that’s what Lakasi said. I wonder where this is going…?
I’m more drawn how close he looks to that one man, I can’t remember how to spell his name, that told him not to go to the smoke walk.
He’s got the same hat, but missing the human face. Makes me still wonder if it may not be a beast posing as a familiar person. http://bird-boy.com/comic/volume-i-page-29/
I wouldn’t trust that figure. Could be a rook man (or equally creepy beast) in disguise all we know.
After all, didn’t Namu warn on page 25 about not stopping on the banks of the river?
DON’T STOP THE BOAT BALI DDDD:
I love the art in the first panel. Bali looks so mature all of a sudden, and the perspective is awesome too. Good work!
“Stop the boat!”
(Boat brakes screech)
This is just too suspenseful! And it’s still light out.

Lakas. That’s the name of the person the “ghost” reminds me of here. Still waiting to see the next page and find out if there is something to this.
