Volume 1: Page 9
Faceplant part two. Just where is Bali wandering off to?
A couple weeks ago I got the chance to interview with the podcast Sci Fi Saturday Night! We talked quite a bit about Bird Boy and Cealdian and comics in general so if you were interested in listening to the show, you can find it here. The interview’s during the second half of the recording. It was a lot of fun, check it out!
That’s all for now. I promise this comic eventually has a plot and is not just Bali frolicking aimlessly in the wilderness forever!

Really enjoying Bird Boy, though I can’t help feel but wish you’d update Cealdian… I love it so much.
Also, another thing. Pages 8 and 9 aren’t showing up in the RSS feed.
I know, I’ve gotten a lot of questions about Cealdian but it’s gotta wait for now :\ Sorry!
As for the RSS, it’s working for me? Not really sure what could be going on there!
Meh, it’s fine now. Just reloaded the bookmark and it worked ^^
Oh damn… love this one.
It`s great how you tell the story with pictures and without any spoken word.
I`m really a fan of little Bali
I’m looking forwards to it x3 Bali is fluffy and kyoot as usual hurr
Great! I like your use of colors!
Ahahaha he’s just so cute! As much as faceplants hurt, I imagine, I can’t help but “d’aw” at him.
Well his helmet protects him from his frequent faceplants (and probably causes some of them too) so d’aw away!
Bali is too cute~! cx
…something bad is gonna happen to him, isn’t it? :c
Hmm! You’ll just have to wait and see!
Don’t his little feet get cold?
Bali’s never worn shoes, his feet are really really tough, more like a dogs paw pads. He’s probably a little uncomfortable but not as bad as you’d think!
Argh so cuuuute! I just want to hug him! Though I doubt he’d appreciate that.
I love you comic, especially how even that animals are wearing masks. I have one question: Will the story eventually explain what a Caucasian child is doing in a Native American or Inuit tribe?
I figured this question would come up eventually, but since you’re the first to ask you’re gonna get the long and the short of it!
It’s important firstly to remember that this comic is a fantasy and that the people, while their outfitting and mannerisms take cues from several actual cultures, are completely fictitious with their own history and backgrounds. You will meet people in this world who are black, while, checkered, turquoise, brown, blue, or all of the above, and they’ll all be living in the same part of town. Bali’s coloring was a design decision, not a race one.
That all being said: yes there is a reason Bali does not look or act like the other people he lives with, and you will definitely find out why!
This is a lovely comic. I’m in love with it already after just reading these pages.
I can’t help but wonder though, how are his feet not cold?
And I just found my answer, heh. Bali’s cute. And I want his feet…
Stumbled across this a few weeks ago; really love the unique art style you have going on here! And little Bali is absolutely adorable! I just want to hug him! X3 Then again…that may just be because I, too, am cursed with the short gene, lol. Good work! Can’t wait for the next update!
