Spontaneous Tuesday night update!
I’m off on vacation next week, which means no Cintiq but lots of time for scripting, and I really really wanted to get started on page 20…so this page is coming out early (or late?) so that I can have the rest of the week to start on that! It was a big time management effort where I’d set timers even so I’d get at least an hour of work done a day. Of course the timer for tonight went off a couple hours ago…but like I said I really wanted to push this on out, especially since it had been giving me some pacing woes that needed working out, which kept me from updating last week.

I like the way Bali is standing at the center of the cross-hairs on the floor in the first frame. Nothing bad can happen to him there!
That cross-with-a-circle-in-a-circle is a recurring symbol in the story :d It is following Bali eeeeverywhere.

I have been noticing this for a while, but now I can put it into words… I love how most of the time we only see Bali’s mask as this goofy and clumsy big-headed bird and then just little snippets of Bali’s cute and heart-warming facial expressions for endearing moments (so far… I can see this being used for fear as well farther down the road). A quasi dichotomy between adventurous and emotional.

On further analysis… this seems to be a pretty scary moment for him… but his expression of fear is actually heart-warming still… eheheh
