Well dang!

Random fact: It’s considered very bad form to walk through the middle of that floor-circle there, which is why Lakasi walks around the edge. Before, you know, dropping a bomb on our poor kid’s head. It’s not important to the story very much, just an interesting tidbit. Those floor-circle-things are pretty typical of Bird-Boy-architecture! Architecture is fun!

It’s been a very very very very long time since we’ve had any dialogue. I think this is the most Lakasi has ever spoken on one page.

But hey look! New character! New interior! That’s Inanni. She’s not the head of the village by any means (that would be Lakasi’s job!), but people listen to her because she is the oldest. She is also Bali’s caretaker…but more importantly she has an incredible braid-roll on top of her head.

So good to finally get to draw some architecture and the like! Of course, it also takes me about 10,000 times longer than a page set on the tundra would, so as always thank you for your patience! Enjoy the page!

Greetings my friends, here is your new page.

A very sad thing has happened very recently. Jean Giraud, aka Moebius, passed away today. Moebius, for those who don’t know, is a French comic artist and an incredible giant in the fields of comic and sci fi art. The works of Moebius were extremely, extremely influential in the creation of Bird Boy. I cannot count how often I would get lost in his worlds while leafing through a book looking for inspiration.

If you are not familiar with his work and require inspiration, I recommend you look him up! You won’t be disappointed.

In other news, there are a couple of new fan works up! One is a bit older but I’ve just gotten the chance to stick it up in the fanart gallery. It is a really nifty paper cutout of our favorite bird boy bird! Check it out by clicking on the “Art” section! The other is a motion comic by Michelle Moniz created using panels from Bird Boy! It’s pretty nifty, you can find it here!

Next page is the start of a new scene, which is always frightening/exciting for me. We’ll get to explore a lot more of Bali’s world, and hopefully some of the plot will make an appearance as well! I’m really excited to share it with you all.

Oof, looks like I fell off the wagon again for regular updates. That is pretty terrible! But it was over the holidays, so hopefully you all were busy and didn’t miss me too much! Here is the new page.

I utilized a new work schedule this week for getting the page done. Not only did it get done on time, but I went to bed before 12 every night this week! I also got to watch tv and play with the dog, which is kind of unheard of! We’ll see how long I can keep it up, as it involves some very very tight time management *phew!*.

Well, that’s unfortunate!

I was actually surprised by all the people who remembered the passing comment I made all the way back (a year ago!) on page 6 about most local beasts being somewhat less edible than the eshe. The bear is no exception I guess! Sticks and mossy stones are not so good for keeping a tribe well fed through the winter. :\

I’ve really been trying to get more regular updates out lately, so I will see you next week with another installment. Enjoy the page!

Go Lakasi go! The hunters finally get to do something! Other than, you know, hunt.

And a page updating on time for once! I was pretty excited about getting this one done, so not much could stop me. Having lots of energy stored up from all that turkey I ate last week probably didn’t hurt either.

I added a wee project wonderful ad to the site down under the comic. I’ve been using PW as an advertiser as well as an advertisee for about 4 years now and I think it is such an awesome program. If you are a fellow comick-er, I really do recommend it for advertising. And if you are a reader you should consider clicking on some of those lovely links and finding some hidden gems!
